Meeting of the Board of Directors of the General Authority for Supply Commodities No. 59 for the year 2024/2025.
The Board of Directors of the General Authority for Supply Commodities No. 59 for the fiscal year 2024/2025 was held under the chairmanship of Dr. Sherif Farouk Minister of Supply and Internal Trade.
The meeting was attended by Major General Walid Abu El-Magd, Deputy Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, Mr. Mustafa Ismail, Vice Chairman of the General Authority for Supply Commodities, and several board members.
The meeting addressed several topics, most notably the Authority's financial statements and several issues related to Authority employees, as well as issues related to relevant entities.
During the meeting, Dr. Sherif Farouk emphasized the pivotal importance of the General Authority for Supply Commodities in supporting the national food security system and ensuring price stability, especially in light of global economic changes that affect the movement of goods and international supply chains.
The Minister indicated that securing a sustainable strategic reserve of basic commodities such as wheat, oils, sugar, meat, and poultry is a priority for the Ministry, ensuring the regular and stable availability of commodities to citizens in all governorates.
Dr. Sherif Farouk added that the Ministry closely monitors developments in global markets and is constantly reviewing import and distribution plans to keep pace with changes and ensure citizens' needs are met efficiently and effectively, while maintaining prices within an appropriate range.
The meeting concluded with the Minister emphasizing the importance of cooperation and integration among all parties to ensure the Ministry's strategic objectives of serving citizens and meeting their basic needs on a
sustainable basis.
